Atopic dermatitis in dogs and cats is an intensely itchy skin inflammation, which is usually caused by allergy. The most important cause is an allergic reaction to an allergen produced by house dust mites, microscopic creatures that are plentiful in soft materials such as beds and carpets. The primary source of exposure to dust mite allergen for most pets is in their beds. Mission: Allergy's Allergy Approved® pet beds contain an inner allergen-barrier made of Mission: Allergy® Premium Microfiber, which surrounds the soft filling and prevents colonization by dust mites. It also prevents any dust mite allergen in the bed from reaching the pet's skin. The outer cover, with your choice of a Nylon or Quilted top, should be removed and washed every 1-2 weeks to remove any accumulated surface allergen.
Pet Beds are available in Blue or Tan. All bottoms are made of Super-Durable Nylon. Choose a top of Super-Durable Nylon or Super-Soft Quilting. Made in USA.
Note that if the pet is allowed in the owner's bed, the pillows and mattress of that bed should also be encased in allergen-barrier encasings.
