A handy homeowner or a local hardware or building supply store can install this material in your current screen frames. Compared to regular screening material, visibility is about 20% less and airflow is about 40% less.

These are true microfiltration bags. Much more effective than even double layer paper bags, triple layer Filtrete^TM bags trap more than 95% of all particles as small as 0.3 microns. Filtrete^TM fibers are 100% polypropylene, and are electrostatically charged to capture small particles. Because particles are trapped throughout the depth of the material, many more particles can be trapped without clogging the filter and restricting airflow, thereby increasing the usable life of the bag two to three times that of ordinary bags. In a recent university study of 21 vacuum cleaner bags, Filtrete^TM ranked highest in air flow and highest in allergen containment (for both dust mite and cat dander allergens). Pkg of 4.

Note: These bags are designed for upright vacuum cleaners. However, any of them may be ordered as an inexpensive way of obtaining Filtrete^TM material for use as a final filter in canister vacuums. Simply cut an appropriate size piece of the Filtrete^TM bag material and place it on the inside of the vacuum cleaner's exhaust port. It will catch any allergen that passes through the vacuum cleaner's ordinary bag.
